Stallion Mane in Winter’s Wind

This weekend and even today was horrible.
Actual sobbing kind of horrible.
I’m still not hungry and the thought of cooking supper and smelling food makes me feel even worse. I watched that show North America, you know? Pretty much cried my way through it. Then the final episode of The Big C and well shoot, that ended as horrible/well as I was expecting. Cathy on the show was diagnosed with cancer almost at the same time I was. The show had a weird comfort thing going for me.Also I keep washing my skin and scrubbing at it and my skin still doesn’t feel clean. Not sure what’s going on there.

In better news I ordered thirteen boxes of Fuji’s polaroid film because that seemed like a good idea.

To the left is a week old bruise from walking into my 4x5 case/trunk. To the right is 24 hours after a dog jumped at me and also a blurred out scar from four years ago. Lots of goosie bumps.

WEIRDLY ENOUGH these are incredibly exciting to me and photographs I want to explore more into.

“My girlfriend and I went on a 2+ month long backpacking trip across Morocco, Turkey and several European countries. We are both artists and are making a book of photographs from the photos we collected on our trip. We created a few series throughout the trip and one of them is called “twenty one beds”, in which we took self portraits in every bed, couch or floor we slept on throughout the trip.” - Yaek Malka

They’ll also be launching their book Sea Blues at Molasses Books in Brooklyn on Friday May 17th!

My eye caught a dark form lying on the river bottom. It took me a few moments to comprehend what I had stumbled upon. Lying peacefully in the shallow waters of the river, only a few meters from shore, was a full-grown cougar. The contrast between the serenity of the scene I was witnessing and what must have played out here in the cougar’s final moments made me shiver. It was the first shiver of many, as I stripped down and waded out into the icy water to get this shot. x
